Florida trooper killed in I-95 pursuit honored at memorial service

Zachary Fink, 26, died in crash with semitrailer near Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper killed during a pursuit on I-95 earlier this month was honored Monday during a memorial service.

Trooper Zachary Fink, 26, died on Feb. 2 while pursuing a driver on I-95 near Port St. Lucie. The driver made an illegal U-turn and Fink followed, but he collided with a semitrailer as he made the turn, according to the FHP. Investigators said the driver of the semi also died in the crash.

The service was held in Port St. Lucie at Christ Fellowship Church.

The driver whom Fink was pursuing was eventually taken into custody by other troopers and sheriff’s deputies when he crashed into a tree about 2 miles off I-95.

The driver, 30-year-old Michael Anthony Addison, faces several charges, including vehicular homicide.
