Carolina Cardona

Reporter

Carolina Cardona joined News 6 in June 2018 as a reporter for the 9 a.m. newscast.

Carolina Cardona’s journalism career started in 2003 when she interned for Caracol radio, a Colombian-founded station that has a borough in Miami. While there, Carolina produced segments on the important news events in Latin America. She also collaborated with the production crew of Premios Billboard, the Spanish version of the Billboard Music Awards, for the Telemundo Network.

In 2004, Carolina was accepted to the internship program at Univision Network, where she worked as a producer and reporter. After completing the 10-week program, Carolina was offered a job as a producer for Primer Impacto, a live news magazine show that airs daily. During her time working for Primer Impacto, she got the opportunity to work as a fill-in reporter at WLTV, the sister station in Miami. She continued to work for both stations for more than ten years. Even though the work was hard and the days were long, Carolina said she did not mind, because she was fulfilling her dream to report.

After more than ten years with Univision Network, Carolina decided to take on a new challenge in 2014. She chose to leave producing and make the move to Phoenix, Arizona where she became a full-time reporter at the Telemundo affiliate.

A year later, her news director thought she would be a perfect fit for a recently launched newscast at the Telemundo station in Philadelphia. She was a reporter in the city of brotherly love until 2017. That's when Carolina decided it was time to move closer to family.

After being away for three years, she was happy to return home to the Sunshine State.
