Eryka Washington is excited to join the News 6 Team as a investigate reporter and fill-in anchor.

Eryka began her on-air television career at WMGM-TV in Atlantic City, New Jersey then headed to WHEC-TV in Rochester, New York.

To broaden her experience, Eryka then moved to the prestigious Cohn & Wolfe Public Relations Firm on Madison Avenue in New York, New York. As a Public Relations Executive, she pitched stories, trained media clients, and developed Video News Releases for stations across the country.

But Eryka’s love of television news led her back on-air at the WB 10 O’clock News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shortly thereafter, she headed to sunnier skies in Orlando,

Florida and joined the WESH News team as a reporter and anchor.

Most recently Eryka worked as Public Relations Consultant/Talent for Rich Noonan Productions and a Freelance Reporter at WCAU News in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Eryka holds a bachelors degree in communications and journalism mass media from Douglas College, Rutgers University. In 2012, she was inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame at Lenape High School, her alma mater. Eryka is also a proud recipient of The Citizenship Award from The City of Orlando and Emmy for Best News Team Coverage of Natural Disaster. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a member of the Bridges of Light Foundation.

She is happy to be back in Orlando.
