Kirstin O'Connor joined the News 6 morning team as a reporter in 2015 then as an anchor in 2016.
Before landing in Sunny Central Florida, Kirstin called New York, Georgia, Tennessee, California, and Oregon her home.
She grew up in the spotlight in elementary school plays, and dance recitals. But her passion for storytelling came in high school, as a self-proclaimed speech and debate "nerd" and Mock Trial witness.
Kirstin graduated from the University of California, San Diego where she spent hours hidden away in edit bays, and behind the assignment desk at KNSD, the city's NBC affiliate.
From there, Kirstin spent two years as a morning anchor and reporter in Medford, Oregon. She shot stories on the lines of massive wildfires, reported from the teacher strike in 2014 that earned the team an Emmy Award, and anchored during the deadly shooting at Umpqua Community College (UCC) in 2015.
When she's not at work, you'll still find Kirstin holding a camera. She loves photography, spending time at the beach, seeing a good movie, and outdoor adventures!
She's thrilled to be in Orlando, much closer to family in St. Augustine and Naples.
