DETROIT – Kia is recalling 342,000 of its Soul vehicles for the second time because of a problem that could cause steering functions to shut down, the company says.
The recall affects the Soul and the Soul EV from the 2014-16 model years. According to Kia, the pinion plug may allow the pinion gear to separate from the steering gear assembly. The automaker says some vehicles may not have been properly repaired in previous recalls.
Kia will start notifying owners of the recall on Nov. 16. Dealerships will handle any needed repairs to fix the problem.
