Ford is recalling 2014-2018 midsize cars with a steering wheel issue that could cause drivers to lose control.

Ford is recalling nearly 1.4 million cars because steering wheels could detach from the steering column, The Associated Press reported.

More than 1.3 million of the cars are in the U.S., with the rest in Canada and Mexico, the AP reported.

The recall affects 2014-2018 models of the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, the AP reported.

The AP reported that Ford knows of two crashes and one injury due to the issue caused by the loosening of the steering wheel bolts.

Dealers are replacing the bolts with ones that are expected to be more secure.
