Gas prices lowest in 100 days

(LAKANA) – Gas prices have continued to fall Monday, hitting the lowest point in 100 days.

Gas prices are averaging $2.13 per gallon for unleaded gas.

It's "peak road-trip season," according to AAA, which has led to abundant supply and falling prices.

Prices are down 52 cents from the same day in 2015 and the lowest on this date since 2004.

Gas prices have dropped below $2 per gallon in 14 states: South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Virginia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Delaware, Kentucky, Texas and Georgia.

  • Alabama: $1.93 (-5 cents)
  • West Virginia: $2.23 (-5 cents)
  • Massachusetts: $2.20 (-5 cents)
  • Rhode Island: $2.21 (-5 cents)
