Barnes & Noble on Thursday recalled black power adapters sold with the Nook Tablet 7 because of a potential shock hazard.

Barnes & Noble said it has received four reports of the adapters breaking or pulling apart, exposing metal prongs. No injuries have been reported.

The company said consumers should stop using the recalled adapters and register online for a free replacement adapter, along with a Barnes & Noble $5 gift card. Once registered, consumers will be able to print a prepaid UPS label to return the recalled adapters to Barnes & Noble.

Consumers will receive replacement adapters in the mail. Until a replacement adapter is received, consumers are advised to charge their Nook Tablet 7 with a USB cable.

The adapter has the model number TPA-95A050100UU and a manufacture date of 201610.
