Garbage disposals recalled over flying metal hazard

Anaheim and Moen disposals sold under several brands

Garbage disposals are recalled.

ORLANDO, Fla. – About 150,000 garbage disposals have been recalled because of concerns that metal could break off and fly out while being used.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday that it is recalling 3/4 and 1 horsepower Anaheim and Moen disposals that were sold under several brands.

The recall involves 146,000 disposals sold in the United States.
