Furnace: The furnace provides heat to your home. This is a very large component and often requires a lot of space.

Heat exchange: This is found inside the furnace, and it switches on when the furnace is activated by the thermostat. It pulls in cool air, heats it, and sends it out into the home through the vents.

Evaporator coil: This helps produce cool air to help cool your home down during warm weather.

Ductwork: The ducts help carry warm and cool air to your home. They are typically made of aluminum.

Vents: Vents help transfer the warm or cool air from the ducts and into your home.
