WKMG-TV posts full-time position

WKMG-TV, the Graham Media Group, Inc. owned, CBS Network affiliated station in Orlando, FL is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and results oriented Investigative Television Reporter to join our News Team. We are looking for a reporter who can engage viewers on-air, online and through social media. You must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. We want a team player who has excellent news judgment and the ability to problem solve. Candidates should have strong live reporting skills and the ability to react to breaking news situations quickly. We want people who thrive on winning!


WKMG-TV has an opening for a creative story teller and writer who has a vision of how a story should be told and the ability to execute that vision. We're looking for someone who can generate and develop their own story ideas, track down the elements needed, and put together stories that are unique to our market and are so compelling people want to watch.

Produce long and short term exclusive investigative news stories on multiple platforms including television, internet and social media.

Develop stories in cooperation with executive producer and other members of the special projects team.

Produce stories independently, but also cooperatively with unit producer when assigned.

Expected to contribute several stories each month, therefore, must be able to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Develop and maintain sources to cultivate stories.

Report weekly as part of the General Assignment mix, lending investigative chops to day-of coverage.

Ability to effectively report on live breaking news as needed.

Proven track record of exceptional web coverage of assigned stories. including social media and additional web content to enhance on-air stories.

Conduct interviews, gather information, log and organize footage, arrange for graphics and animation, write broadcast scripts and supervise editing sessions.

Work effectively in a team environment with various photographers, editors and producers.

Possess knowledge  of public records laws.  Computer assisted reporting skills preferred. 

Discretion, maturity and composure, especially under pressure.


Three to five years of successful reporting experience in a television news environment. Ability to work well in a fast paced, high pressure, deadline driven environment. College degree in Journalism/Communications preferred. Knowledge of current computer software. Able to shoot and edit video as needed.

Previous experience with Investigative Journalism

Demonstrated experience in writing and on-air presentation skills.

Strong news ethics, judgment and professionalism.

Solid live presenter.

Current valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Company.

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and irregular hours at a moment's notice
