Virtual reality roller coaster coming to SeaWorld

SeaWorld Orlando to announce additions to park

ORLANDO, Fla. – SeaWorld Orlando announced on Tuesday that virtual reality is coming to one of its roller coasters as part of seven new additions coming to the park.

SeaWorld said the virtual reality experience will be added to its Kraken roller coaster .

The experience, expected to debut next summer, will introduce passengers to the mythical ocean beast Kraken.

The change is expected to be part of $175 million worth of additions to the theme park.

Along with the virtual reality additions, a dolphin nursery, Electric Ocean lighting entertainment spectacle, Nautilus Theatre show and Flamecraft Bar will open in summer 2017.

The Seven Seas Festival, a 14-day food and music festival, will start in February 2017. The Aquatica pass member pavilion will open in spring 2017 and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Friends Christmas Celebration will continue in 2017.
