Elton John reschedules Orlando concert at Amway

Farewell Tour stops rescheduled for Orlando and Tampa

ORLANDO, Fla. – Elton John announced the new date for his Orlando stop on his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour -- but fans will have to wait a few months.

According to officials at Amway Center, the superstar will perform on March 18, 2019.

Concert goers walked away disappointed Tuesday after show runners announced John would not be performing due to an ear infection.

"We are very grateful Elton John and his team were able to work with us to reschedule the concert on his farewell tour so he can play all his hits for his Orlando fans," chief venues officer of Orlando venues Allen Johnson said. "We welcome his return to the Amway Center in March."

The 70-year-old singer is in the midst of the last world tour of his career and Tuesday was slated to be his concert at Amway Center. He also called off his show planned for Tampa on Wednesday. That concert has been rescheduled for Nov. 4, 2019.

"We always play 100% live and with impaired hearing and ear pain, I wouldn’t have been able to deliver the performance that my fans deserve," John said on social media. "I absolutely hate letting my fans down and it was an incredibly hard decision to make. Thank you for all your patience and support."

Concert tickets for the originally scheduled show will be honored on the new date.
