Elton John ‘sincerely sorry' for postponing Orlando, Tampa shows

Superstar suffering from ear infection, doctor didn't clear him to perform

ORLANDO, Fla. – Elton John’s last scheduled concert appearances in Orlando and Tampa have been postponed.

Several fans walked out of the Amway Center arena disappointed Tuesday after getting the news minutes after the show was set to kick off.

"Everybody was waiting for the show to start and someone came on the microphone and (said) that he had an ear infection and hold on to your tickets we will reschedule," Forrest Hollandsworth said.

The 70-year-old singer is in the midst of the last world tour of his career and Tuesday was slated to be his concert at Amway Center.

But the show was postponed after it was announced that John had an ear infection.

John released released a statement on the cancellation of both Orlando and Tampa shows the morning after the announcement.

John performed in Miami on Saturday.

"He's a human being. He's like everybody else. We still love him." said Haley Goubert, who received tickets for the concert as a birthday gift.

Another fan flew down to Orlando from Philadelphia for the show.

"I flew down here to see my friends and to see Elton John, my seventh show of the Farewell tour," said Patti Hughes.

In a news release, the Amway Center said a reschedule date will be announced in the future.

"We're sorry to announce that due to an ear infection, Elton John is unable to perform tonight. The rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future so please hold on to your tickets."
