ORLANDO, Fla. – Luke Skywalker's original lightsaber now has a new home in Orlando at the Ripley's Believe It or Not! after being acquired by the company in June, and will add to the already established "Star Wars" collection.
The lightsaber, which was made from a 1930s Graflex flash gun camera, was used by Mark Hamill in "Star Wars: A New Hope," released in 1977, and "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back," released in 1980. The items were owned by producer Gary Kurtz.

The lightsaber, which is not yet on display, will join the "Star Wars" collection of items that include hair from Chewbacca's suit, a duct tape interpretation of Michelangelo's "Pieta" with Chewbacca cradling Han Solo, and staple portraits of "Star Wars" characters.
The company also acquired the "Superman" costume worn by actor George Reeves at the Profiles in History Hollywood Auction.
