Orlando Speedworld hosts 'Night of Destruction'

Show features Figure 8 bus races, demolition derby, more

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you're looking for an exciting night of fun for the whole family --  and maybe some smashing and crashing, too -- the "Night of Destruction" at Orlando Speedworld is just the ticket.

It's a Black Friday night event beginning at 7 p.m.

"We just do crazy cool stuff, and people love it," said a staff member. "We have got a monster truck that actually gives rides to 18 passengers. It's like a roller coaster ride in the back.  We whip some doughnuts, and you go flying one way, we will whip the doughnuts the other way."

If you've never seen a school bus race, this is the place.

"It is the home of the school bus figure 8 race. Now, a lot of stock car drivers go around the circle. These buses are wild and dangerous. They go through the X at an intersection. It's kind of like I-4, it gets really crazy and really dicey. The guys in front of you and behind you are going to try to take you out. They'll be cutting through the X as fast as they can, and if a car or a bus crashes, we let them keep going until there is a winner," the staff member said.

And that's not even the wildest thing the staff told us to expect.

"We are going to have a gentleman light himself on fire and walk down the race track. He's also going to blow himself up in a car,' the staff member said.

Tickets start at $10 for children 3 and older and $25 for adults. You can buy them in advance by clicking here. If you buy at the door, they only accept cash, but there are ATMs available.
