Disney reveals big changes for Epcot's Test Track attraction

New ride allows guests to design own car

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Disney released some images on Friday of the revamped Test Track ride at Epcot.

Since Disney quietly closed Epcot's Test Track attraction on April 15, many have wondered what changes are being made.

Chevrolet is taking over sponsorship of the pavilion from parent company General Motors, allowing Disney's Imagineers to re-focus the ride on the future of car design.

Disney says it will allow guests to design their own custom concept vehicle, and then put it through its paces on the exhilarating hills and switchbacks of the Test Track circuit.

In the post-show, guests will be able to make a TV commercial featuring their concept car or truck, race their car or truck on a virtual track and take a picture with their custom concept vehicle.

The attraction is scheduled to reopen in fall 2012.
