ORLANDO, Fla. – It's been a month and half since Orlando's first medical marijuana dispensary opened its doors, and News 6 is following up to see how business is going.
Knox Medical is located on Orange Avenue in Ivanhoe Village. The cannabis dispensary offers low-THC oils and cartridges for vaporized-smoking devices.

"The Knox Medical dispensary is doing very well, even better than expected for Orlando's first dispensary in the first months of operation," Adam Sharon, a spokesperson for Knox, told News 6 in an email.
Sharon said the company has heard a lot of feedback following the special legislative session in Tallahassee that resulted in new legislation signed into law by Gov. Rick Scott.
The law increases accessibility and reduces delays for patients to receive the medicine.
"These factors have resulted in a very strong opening couple of months for the Knox Medical dispensary," Sharon said.
According to Sharon, the Ivanhoe Village location, which is filled with popular restaurants and shops, was the perfect spot for Orlando's first dispensary.
"It's a unique community that has a real family and neighborly feel. We have been embraced by fellow small business owners and residents," Sharon said.
The modern and sleek facility has also garnered a lot of attention.
"There is certainly a 'wow factor' response when patients and visitors come to the dispensary. Patients are impressed by the neat and clean design of the facility," Sharon said. "As a company, we have placed a lot of emphasis and effort on ensuring patients experience an unrivaled customer service experience."
Later this summer, Knox will be opening locations in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and Lake Worth, then St. Petersburg shortly afterward.
Every day, Sharon said, the company is meeting patients who have deeply personal and emotional stories to tell about their loved ones or themselves.
"Oftentimes patients have nowhere else to turn, and medical cannabis is their last resort. Knowing that we are helping patients and members of our community is very gratifying and rewarding," Sharon said. "We feel honored by the trust our patients are placing in Knox."
