Orange County firefighters hope app will help get results, save lives

Fire department officially joins Pulse Point App

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County firefighters are hoping an app will help them get results and save lives.

The department officially joined the Pulse Point app Tuesday.

The app will send out an alert from first responders if someone nearby is in urgent need of CPR.

Firefighters are teaming up with the University of Central Florida for the big reveal in honor of a UCF student who collapsed and died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in 2015.

The Orlando Fire Department is already involved with the app, it is free to download.
