Red wine, chocolate help you look younger, study shows
ORLANDO – Forget working out or spending thousands on facial rejuvenation products, the answer to maintaining good looks is chill and delicious.
A new study claims drinking red wine and eating chocolate helps recharge old cells, and makes them feel like new cells.
According to the New York Post, researchers at Exeter University claim the chemicals found in red wine and chocolate help restore the older cells that lose their ability to repair themselves.
As cells grow older, telomeres that normally protect DNA strands lose their effectiveness, leading to wrinkles. However, the wine and chocolate chemicals divide the older cells and create longer telomeres.
"When I saw some of the cells rejuvenating I could not believe it," said Dr. Eva Latorre of Exeter. “These old cells were looking like young cells. It was like magic.”
So if you're looking to age gracefully, or even turn back the clock, pour another glass of vino and pop a few more bonbons.
