ORLANDO, Fla. - The spirit of giving is alive and well in Central Florida.

Dr. Chris Turner, a local chiropractor is helping families get in the Christmas spirit.

He stopped by Trees at College Park, a local Christmas tree stand, and paid for 100 trees.

"I may not be in the same position as I am next year than today and I'm like, 'I want to give now while I'm able to,'" Turner said.

Kelly Christopher works at the Christmas tree stand. He said Turner's actions took everyone by surprise.

"He kind of came in with a big smile on his face," Christopher said.

Turner spent more than $6,000 on the trees.

"I feel like giving is a gift and that's something  that you should be proud of and it encourages other people and inspires other people to be giving and kind as well," Turner said.

Turner's only request for those who received a free tree was that they pay it forward. A little girl named Betsy did just that.

A letter she wrote to Turner read, "Dear Dr. Chris, thank you for the Christmas tree. What my act of kindness was at P.E. we saw a girl sitting down alone and we invited her to play with us."

Turner said his big purchase was worth it to encourage others to carry on the gift of kindness.

"I just try to do as much as I can in hopes that somebody else will do something nice for somebody else and then so on and so on," Dr. Turner said.
