A large group of deserving students in Brooklyn, N.Y., has received a fleet of brand new bicycles.
A team of volunteers got to work and each bike has to be assembled and tested by bicycle mechanics from Sid's Bike Shop in Manhattan.
“We were able to build about 50 bikes in 4 hours,” Mike McGinlay, owner of Sid’s, told Inside Edition.
The charity Dare2B found the deserving children. Their families are struggling and some live in homeless shelters. For them, a new bike is a special gift indeed.
“To just own something new that's yours, there's nothing like that,” Roxanna Colorado, the founder and executive director of Dare2B told Inside Edition.
The deserving kids were then brought into the gym where they saw the bikes and Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian was on hand to let them know the bikes were for them to take home.
“Each and every one of you is gonna get a brand new bike today,” Fabian said. “There's a bike with everybody's name on it.”
