A goat and a dog were rescued and returned to their owner after they were found walking together down a highway in Minnesota.

Motorists wrangled the adorable duo and kept them safe until Minnesota State Patrol arrived, agency officials said on Twitter.

"So, this really happened on Saturday," the tweet said. "Lt. Shank kept the two pals company until the Humane Society showed up."

The Animal Humane Society said the pair's owner reclaimed them, the Star Tribune reported.

"They were quite the pair, very attached to one another," according to animal control, who brought the pets to the Humane Society, the newspaper reported.
