Powerball announced on Saturday that the jackpot reached $949.8 million.

“The excitement is growing tremendously statewide and across the nation for this historic jackpot on Saturday night,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Tom Delacenserie. “This Powerball jackpot is not only a life-changing opportunity for any person, but also it has allowed the Lottery to generate over $40 million in revenue for Florida students and schools.”

Last night's drawing was the biggest in U.S. history, topping a March 2012 jackpot of $656 million.

Nobody has matched all six numbers in one of the bi-weekly Powerball drawings since Nov. 7, 2015.

Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
