Gas prices up 7 cents in Florida

Increase due to high summer demand, lower crude inventories, experts say

ORLANDO, Fla. – Gas prices in Florida have risen 7 cents per gallon over the past week.

According to AAA, the state average for a gallon of regular gasoline now stands at $2.21.

Experts with AAA said it is the second-largest weekly increase of any state. 

The national average for a regular gallon of gas also increased from last week and now stands at $2.28, a difference of 3 cents. 

AAA said the increase was due to high summer demand and lower crude inventories, which should decline after Labor Day.
