SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. - Two people were killed Tuesday in a freak crash involving a motorcycle in Seminole County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

[TRAFFIC ALERT: Roads closed after crash]

Troopers said the crash occurred at State Road 46 and State Road 415. A pickup truck, driven by Thomas Snead, 46, was headed northbound on SR 415 when a spool of electrical wire in the truck's cargo area flew out and struck the motorcyclists, causing them to be ejected.

The motorcycle then ignited and the couple on the motorcycle, Andre Grenier, 58, and Helene Bouchard, 54, died at the scene, troopers said.

The crash is still under investigation.

Snead continued driving after accident, but was later located and questioned by troopers.  It's not known if Snead was initially aware of the crash.

Charges are pending.
