2 men arrested in attempted Orange County home burglary

Homeowner told deputies men knocked on door, threw brick through glass door

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Two 20-year-old men were arrested after attempting to steal from a home in the Belmont Estates subdivision in Orange County, deputies said.

Orange County deputies arrived at 11:55 a.m. Saturday to a burglary in progress in the 7400 block of Facility Drive.

The homeowner told deputies two men -- identified as Christopher McKenzie and Jonathan Alicea -- knocked on her door then threw a brick through her rear glass sliding door.

Deputies said McKenzie and Alicea were scared off and fled the area on foot. Patrol deputies then set up a perimeter.

The two were found by patrol a short distance from the scene on Liverpool Boulevard and Goldenrod Road.

The victim identified both men. Deputies said one of the men was in possession of a 9 mm firearm.

McKenzie and Alicea were arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail without incident. They were charged with armed burglary to an occupied dwelling, carrying a concealed firearm and throwing a deadly missile into an occupied residence, deputies said.
