Titusville officers exchange gunfire with driver, police say

TITUSVILLE, Fla. - Titusville police said Sunday that officers who responded to a report of a man with a gun at an apartment complex on Mayfair Way briefly exchanged fire with a suspect before the man was taken into custody, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

Harland Ramon Johnson, 22, of Titusville discharged his handgun before he was arrested, police said. No injuries were reported, according to Florida Today.

Johnson was booked into the Brevard County Jail, where he is being held without bond, according to reports.

An internal investigation is underway, in compliance with Titusville Police Department policy.
