Waste Management driver run over by own truck

Driver in serious condition, troopers say

COCOA, Fla. – A Brevard County Waste Management truck driver has been hospitalized after troopers say he fell out of his truck while driving and ran over his own leg.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol Richard Gilman, 52, was driving east on Secluded Way around 3:30 p.m. Friday in a mobile home park when he fell out of his seat for an unknown reason.
The truck then continued to drive forward, running over Gilman's leg, the incident report said. The truck then crashed into a tree and a flag pole.

Gilman was able to climb back into the truck and stop it. He was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
