Fellow officer accidentally shoots Scott Wetherhold in finger

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – A St. Cloud police officer was serving high risk search warrants for drug dealers in Kissimmee Thursday when he was accidentally shot by a fellow officer-in the middle finger.

Police say officer Scott Wetherhold was working with another officer serving search warrants on Tarpon Street for an ongoing investigation into the sale of crack cocaine when they were threatened.

Police said Officer John Nettles fired one shot, resulting in Wetherhold being shot in the middle finger of his right hand.

Wetherhold was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and is expected to fully recover. No other injuries were reported
