Melbourne woman hit, killed by train ID'd

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A woman who was hit and killed by a train in Brevard County on Thursday afternoon has been identified.

Lauren Chudkosky, 21, of Melbourne, was struck between Babcock Street and Sarno Road, police said.

The conductor of a freight train called police about 5:30 p.m. after hiiting a pedestrian, Melbourne police said.

Chudkosky's death remains under investigation.
