New Volusia County beach rules in effect
Big holiday means big crowds at the beaches
Volusia County, FLA. – The big holiday means big crowds at the beaches.
Traffic will be a worry as hundreds of cars will be driving on Volusia County sands, hopefully sticking to the new one way signs and 10 mile per hour speed limit.
Parents who are worried can bring their children to a traffic free zone like the area in front of Splash Park.
Crowds are encouraged to be mindful of the strong surf.
Beach patrol says rip currents are expected to be strong this weekend.
They are ordering people to swim with in eye sight of a life guard.
For now, driving and parking hours on the beach are from sunrise to sunset.
The rules change May 1st, when parking hours will be 8 am to 7 pm.
