2-alarm fire leaves several homeless

Apartment fire guts 3rd floor homes

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando firefighters were called to the Reserves at Rosemont apartments Sunday afternoon after a report of a possible explosion.

When firefighters got to the apartments on Cinderlane Parkway, they found smoke and fire coming through the roof of the three-story building, officials said.

All residents were able to get out safely while firefighters tried to put out the blaze, officials said.

Firefighters saw the roof collapse as they were trying to extinguish the fire, officials said.

A gaping hole could be seen from the ground after firefighters put the blaze out.

Several residents were left homeless and the Red Cross was assisting them.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
