Autopsy not released in burning bodies case

Two burned bodies discovered along popular trail

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County Sheriff's deputies said on Tuesday the autopsies of two young men that were discovered burning along a popular bike trail have been completed.

Deputies said they are waiting to hear from the medical examiner to positively identify the bodies, which were found early Sunday morning just off of Cady Way Trail near Full Sail University.

Deputies are not releasing what evidence, if any, they found at their return visit to the scene on Monday and Tuesday, but Local 6 cameras captured investigators searching the area on their hands and knees, and using metal detectors.

Crimeline posters have been placed near the area, asking for anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.

You can still see the charred grass where the bodies were found along the trail.

Deputies have also confirmed the bodies are somehow connected to a charred area near a storage unit at a nearby apartment complex, Sun Bay Apartments.

People who live nearby are fearing a killer is on the loose.

Jasmine Sanchez said her husband heard arguing outside their door between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday. That's just hours before people found the bodies of the two young men burning not far away.

"It does worry me because I have a daughter, so how could it not worry me for her safety? What's going to happen to us? What's going to happen to the neighborhood? Nobody feels safe around here anymore. We can't even walk around," Sanchez said.

Residents of the complex said deputies have been asking if anyone heard gunshots early Sunday morning.

Deputies have not released a cause of death or a motive.
