Orange Co. deputy ticketed in 4-car crash

Ryan Flynn, 32, cited for careless driving

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – An Orange County sheriff's deputy has been ticketed after troopers say he caused a four-car pileup on State Road 408 Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, deputy Ryan Flynn, 32, of Orlando was driving his marked patrol vehicle eastbound on 408 near Good Homes Road around 7:30 a.m. when his car struck the rear of another car. The second car then struck the back of a third car and pushed the third car into a fourth car.

FHP investigation found that Flynn was at-fault. Flynn told troopers he was pulling down the sun visor in his car to block the sun and didn't notice traffic slowing down.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, troopers said. The crash caused multiple lane closures early Tuesday morning, causing heavy traffic.

Flynn was ticketed for careless driving.
