Girl gashed on ride at Orlando attraction

Go-Kart track on I-Drive collapses, causing crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – An 11-year-old girl was injured Tuesday night in a Go-Kart accident at an attraction in the tourist district of Orlando.

The girl was injured when another driver crashed into the back of the girl's car, causing her to crash into one of the poles at the Magical Midway off International Drive in Orange County.

The girl was taken to a hospital with a gash on her leg and a possible broken arm, according to Orange County Fire and Rescue.

Local 6 cameras captured crews working Wednesday morning to repair wooden panels.

Staff at the Magic Midway said they will continue to work to fix the damage that was caused from the crash. It won't reopen until it is fixed.

On its website, the attraction calls itself "I-Drive's premier thrill park," and it's best known for its colorful slingshot ride, which can be seen for miles on Interstate 4.

Last year, a Magical Midway worker died after falling from a ride.
