Cops: Suspicious device found in retention pond

Roads closed as hazardous materials crews investigate


ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's deputies investigated a report of suspicious devices on Thursday after a crew found two hand grenades in a retention pond, according to deputies.

The Orange County sheriff's bomb squad crews were on scene and Apopka-Vineland Road was been shut down from Steer Lake Road to Old Winter Garden Road in both directions.

Sky 6 was at the scene as crews dressed in wetsuits investigate the devices. Authorities detonated the devices and they have been deemed safe. The investigation is ongoing.
