Deputies: Wanted transvestite, sex offender turns self in
Brelon Small, 34, charged with failure to register as sex offender
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk County man wanted for not registering as a sex offender turned himself in on Sunday, according to Polk County sheriff's deputies.
Deputies started searching for Brelon Small, 34, last week after they say he moved from his home on U.S. Highway 17/92 without notifying authorities, as required by law.
Small was known to change his appearance frequently and had several aliases, including some as a woman.
Small was convicted in 2006 for lewd and lascivious acts upon a child. He is also currently out on bond from a previous arrest in November 2011 for not registering as sex offender.
Deputies said Small has an extensive criminal history, including prior arrests for prostitution, robbery, sale of cocaine, resisting arrest and theft.
He is being held without bond at the South County Jail.
