TAVARES, Fla. – A missing 9-year-old girl was found safe Wednesday morning in Lake County, according to authorities.
Tavares police said Iyana Taylor, who had last been seen around 5 p.m. Tuesday near Wooton Park in downtown Tavares, was staying at a friend's house.

The Tavares Police Department searched for the girl throughout the night with the assistance of the Lake County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit and helicopter.
A reverse 911 call was sent to Tavares residents at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, and Lake County residents were informed about the situation about two hours later, police said.
