SANFORD, Fla. – Police have identified the man found dead on Monday in the Sanford area of Lake Monroe.
Sanford police determined the nude body found was Alvin Wayne Thomas, 58.

Police received the report around 9 a.m. by people on the River Walk, who said they "saw something suspicious in the water." The people flagged down a deputy passing by and contacted Sanford police.
Thomas' body was pulled out of the water and taken into a marina on Palmetto Avenue. Authorities said they were awaiting the arrival of the medical examiner.
No other information, including the cause of death, was immediately available.
