According to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, deputies found a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old alone Saturday afternoon in an apartment in Palm Coast.  Deputies said they had received a tip about the well-being of the children.

Deputies said the children were home alone for at least two hours after Faivre walked miles away to continue an argument with his girlfriend, who is not the mother of the children.

One of the children said Faivre told them he was going to a store, according to deputies.

"It is inconceivable how anyone can think it is proper and safe to leave children this age alone at home. There was not even telephone available for the older child to call for help," Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming said.

Faivre was arrested and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where he was released after posting $5,000 bail.
The children were released to the custody of their aunt, who then took them to their mother in Daytona Beach, deputies said.
