More than 30 cars found vandalized in DeLand

19 cars vandalized in 1 night, police say

DELAND, Fla. – Local 6 searched through DeLand and Volusia County law enforcement records and found more than 30 vehicles recently vandalized in similar fashion.

DeLand police say it could be the same culprits responsible for all the damage.

Local 6 found some cars and trucks were spray-painted with green paint.  Others had slashed tires, broken windows or dents on the hood or doors.

According to the reports, the bricks used to cause the damage was typically left behind.

Some nights, only two or three cars were targeted, but Thursday night there were 19 reports of vandalism.

One victim reported to Volusia County deputies that he and his friends spotted two men inside a white or silver Jeep Wrangler throwing a brick at their car in the driveway. 

The Jeep is described as an open-style, older model with a black top.

Deputies weren't able to locate the vehicle.
