Video shows brazen pepper-spray attack at Target

4 women, man sought by Orlando police in heist

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police said a group of bold shoplifters unleashed a can of chemical spray inside a popular Target store over the weekend.

Police released store security video Wednesday that shows the group of four women and one man enter the store. They leave with their arms full of $1,500 worth of baby clothes, according to police. As a store employee approached the group at the exit, one woman -- believed to be pregnant -- sprayed the chemical at the worker.

Police said the worker was not injured, but several other customers inside the store were hit by the spray, which was evacuated around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Customers of the popular Target, located on east Colonial Drive, had little sympathy for the brazen group of thieves, or the pregnant attacker.

"If it's not yours, it's not yours," said Caroline McDonald. "I don't have pity on her.  I feel sorry for her because she resorted to that."

Police said the group fled in a gray vehicle.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Orlando police or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
