Edgewater police investigate fatal crash


EDGEWATER, Fla. – A 24-year-old man walking with two friends was struck by a train and killed early Tuesday in Edgewater, according to police.

Edgewater police said Charles Adam Royce Duke was hit around 1:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Hibiscus Drive, just north of 26th Street.

According to Edgewater police, F.E.C. Railroad officials notified authorities that a northbound train hit a man, later identified as Duke.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, police said.
