Powerball jackpot up to $240 million

Stores see increase in ticket buyers

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Powerball jackpot is up to $240 million and the time to buy tickets is running out.

The jackpots from two Powerball games have rolled over so the stakes are higher.

Stores are seeing an increase in customers for the $2 tickets.

Local 6 asked some players what they think the key is to winning.

"You have to be one of those people who play everyday," said Ashley Brown.

When asked what she would spend her winnings on, Mary Baker said she can't think of a better way to spend a couple of bucks to benefit many.

"I would donate so much to charity, then pay for my granddaughter's college education and travel a bit," Baker said.

Dorothy Dunn, who stopped in a store to buy one early Wednesday morning, said she's got her fingers crossed for early retirement.

"Give somebody else the chance to work," Dunn said.
