Deputies investigate string of Oviedo restaurant robberies

Robbery could be related to other thefts in the area, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is investigating the armed robbery of a Dunkin Donuts, just a week after a similar robbery occurred at an Oviedo pizza restaurant.

At about 9:56 p.m. on Tuesday, police said a man went into the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Aloma Avenue in Oviedo and demanded store employees give him money from the cash registers.

They gave him about $1,000 and were unharmed in the robbery. The suspect drove away in a black Toyota Corolla sedan with a piece of paper covering the license plate, according to police.

Police said June 14, Five Star Pizza, on Alafaya Trail, was also robbed at gunpoint. The man in that case was dressed in all black and had a small semi-automatic handgun. It's not clear how much the robber got away with in that incident, police say.

Anyone with information regarding either robbery is urged to call CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS or the Seminole County Sheriff's Office at 407-665-6650.
