Magic hire Scott Perry

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sources tell Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore that the Orlando Magic have hired the Detroit Pistons' Vice President of Basketball Operations to serve as the Magic's Assistant General Manager.

Sources confirmed that the Magic hired Scott Perry on Monday.

Perry began working for the Pistons as a scout in 2000. He later worked for the Seattle Supersonics as the team's Assistant General Manager from 2007-08 before returning to the Pistons as Vice President of Basketball of Operations.

The Magic introduced the team's new general manager, Rob Hennigan, on Thursday.

Hennigan replaced Otis Smith, who parted ways with the organization in May.
