Seminole County to vote on property tax increase

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – The Seminole County School Board voted to put a property tax increase to support schools ahead of voters in November.

If passed, the board could raise taxes up to $1 million over four years.

That would cost the average homeowner about $130 a year.

School board leaders said $25 million that would be raised with the increase is crucial to prevent cutting more programs.
