Police issue reverse 911 to search for shooter

PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police are searching for two men – including one armed with a sawed-off shotgun – after reports of a man shot and wounded, according to Local 6 news partner Florida Today.

Police issued a reverse 911 call to residents within a mile-radius of the shooting scene, which happened at about 7:50 a.m. on Monday along Welland Street.

The victim, who may have been tied up by the suspects, was shot in the elbow but was alert, refusing medical treatment, police reported.

One witness told police that the armed men were carrying a pistol and a sawed-off shotgun, and running toward Waverly Avenue.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately known.
Police were also searching in the area of a canal along Sandusky Street.
No arrests have been made.
