ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County leaders announced on Tuesday four new conventions that will bring more than 11,000 people to Orlando and possibly, thousands of future conventions.
Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs called getting the conventions a major victory because each one of these conventions, is a convention for the people who plan conventions.
Officials say that means that if Orlando can impress, attendees at the four new conventions may decide to bring their conventions to Orlando.
A development that Orange County Conventions Center officials say could potentially mean thousands of new conventions, hundreds of thousands of new visitors, and millions of dollars in economic impact.
The four conventions involved are as follows:
- Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association 2012 Annual Meeting June 23-25, 2012
- 2012 International Association of Exhibitions and Events Expo December 5, 2012
- The Professional Convention Management Association January 13-16, 2013
- The 2014 American Incentive Business Travel and Meetings June 10-12, 2014 and June 14-16, 2016
